David is a qualified physicist with 22 years in the Aerospace and Defence sector and 10 years in the services and facilities management sector.
David was seconded to the US, leading a multi-disciplinary team to penetrate the US defence marketplace.
Upon return from the US, David took a post as the Managing Director of a newly acquired SME, dealing with the change and culture issues that characterise a new business acquisition. Whist in the facilities management sector, David led a Bid team for the privatisation of the Atomic Weapons Establishment – Aldermaston, managing a three way partnership comprised of Lockheed Martin, British Nuclear Fuels and Serco. This activity presented many political, cultural and people challenges.
In 2001 David qualified with a diploma in Company Direction from The Institute of Directors. In 2002, David, founded Lanson Consultants Ltd. David became a chartered director in 2003.
In addition to activities with Lanson Consultants, David is a former chairman of the Portsmouth and East Hampshire Chamber Of Commerce and a former board member of Hampshire Chamber of commerce. Until recently David was also a member of the council of governors for the Queen Alexandra Hospital.
David also interviews prospective candidates for the IoD Chartered Director Programme.
Recently, David has been providing board level coaching on business strategy to a Blue chip organisation in the financial services sector.
